Our Work

Adolescents and Youth

Growing up comes with many challenges for young people. At Young Jewels, we recognize these challenges and are dedicated to helping adolescents and youth build essential life, social, health, and economic skills.

Through our programs, we equip young people with the tools they need to make healthy choices, embrace positive lifestyles, gain confidence, and protect themselves from harm.

Focus Areas

Menstrual Health Management

Many women and girls in Kenya struggle with accessing proper menstrual products and education. Young Jewels aims to address these challenges by raising awareness, providing menstrual hygiene products, and educating communities on the importance of menstrual health.

We work to break the stigma surrounding menstruation by engaging not only girls but also boys, parents, and community leaders. Our goal is to ensure that all women and girls can manage their menstruation with dignity, free from shame or economic barriers.

Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy is a significant issue in Kenya, with many girls lacking access to essential sexual and reproductive health information. Young Jewels is committed to reducing teenage pregnancies by raising awareness and providing educational resources.

We work with stakeholders to offer guidance, linkages to health services, and support networks for affected adolescents. Through campaigns and advocacy, we aim to prevent unintended pregnancies and ensure young girls can pursue education and opportunities without disruption.

Mental Health

Mental health is critical to overall well-being, yet many adolescents in Kenya face mental health challenges without proper support.

Young Jewels works to increase awareness of mental health issues and link young people to psychosocial services. By offering education, referrals, and advocacy for better mental health policies, we aim to help adolescents and youth achieve emotional well-being, form healthier relationships, and improve their quality of life.

How we make a difference:

  • Access to Products & Services: Offering menstrual products, safe disposal solutions, and linking youth to healthcare facilities and support services.
  • Advocacy and Policy Influence: Working with local and national stakeholders to advocate for better health policies and social outcomes.
  • Intergenerational Dialogues: Encouraging open conversations between youth and older generations to foster understanding and shared learning.
